The 321 Project

Here are the guidelines for the short film project. The rules are fairly simple:

1.It must be exactly three minutes long.

2.It must have ony two actors.

3.It must be filmed at one location.

  • No cursing.

    Second Stage: Production

Now it's time to actually produce the 321s. You will need to have four roles filled to produce the 321:

    1. Producer: Has overall responsiblity for GETTING IT DONE. Needs to schedule people, get everything in place when it's needed. You have to be able to nag people and get them to work together. Does this sound like you? As the producer, you will run into a lot of excuses as to why things can't happen. Your job is to push on through.

    2. Director: The director is in charge of the creativity of the production. You decide where and how to set up each shot. You tell the actors how to say their lines. You act as a coach and help your actors through rehearsals and staging.

    3. DP (Director of Photography). The DP is the person who really takes care of the shooting. You need to be creative and really use the camera to its capacity. You need to take lots of shots (wide, medium, close up) and provide high quality work for the editor.

    4. Chief editor: You will do much of the editing work, however it needs to be in collaboration with all of the above people. ALL MEMBERS OF THE CREW ARE EXPECTED TO HELP WITH THE EDITING PROCESS FOR THIS PROJECT.

If you would like this to be in the film festival, keep in mind that the festival is JUNE 3rd. Otherwise, it must be finished by the June 10th.
