Photoshop Project Number 4:The Text Mask Poem

Use the text mask tool to create a short poem or saying (by any author you like) in which the words themselves help express the meaning of the poem. Text masking allows you to see a picture underneath the letters. Be sure to include the author's name. Use at large canvas (1200 by 1200 pixels) and use large fonts (200 point or more). Vary the size of the font and the fonts themselves as needed.

The procedure is as follows:

1. Use Photoshop to open the picture you wish to use as a background image. Let's say we choose an image of a fish.

2. Next, create a new 1200 by 1200 pixel file. Select the text mask tool (it's under the capital T in the Photoshop tools), and then write out your word "fish" using a large font.

3. Copy your fish picture. Then use the Paste into command to past the image into your word.

4. Continue for your whole poem.

5. Upload it to Google docs when you are finished.
