Animation with Sprites

1. Find a sprite sheet on the Internet. You can search on Google for "sprite graphics" and you will find tons to choose from.

2. Drag a copy to your desktop.

3. Start a new project in Flash.

4. Change the background color to something besides white. Modify > Document > Background Color.

5. Import your sprite sheet onto your stage, but keep it to the side.

6. Select your sprite sheet and click on Modify > Break Apart.

7. Use the eraser tool to erase the space around one row of your sprite sheet.

8. Use the lasso tool to select each sprite and convert it to a graphic symbol. Modify > Convert to Symbol.

9. Do this for each sprite in your row.

10. Insert blank keyframes in your timeline and turn on Onion skinning.

11. Drag your graphic symbols one at a time onto each successive blank keyframe.

12. Play it back to test it.

Do the above for two characters and add a background in another layer.
