Objectives:

  • Apply basic concepts of cinematography to film anaylsis

Analysis of Dark Passage, starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Directed by Delmer Daves

Using the right side of your notebook, answer the following questions regarding Dark Passage.

  1. List one or two aspects of this film that are important to you (for example, a setting, the lighting, the music, a person, the editing of a scene, an idea suggested or stated).

  2. What does the film make you think and feel (please be specific) and how does the film manage to make you think or feel the way you did?

Fill the left side of the page with images that symbolize the movie. For this part of the assignment, do not just print out a picture from the movie. Make a collage, use color pictures cut out from magazines, add your own drawing or illustration.
